Marcos plans major reform as martial law lasts

Zambia Leader Travels to Tanzania for Uganda Talks

Rebels retreat as Uganda Tanzania border clashes ease

Rebels who invaded Uganda last week reportedly moved back across the Tanzanian border as the insurgency seems to collapse. About 1000 guerrillas crossed into Tanzania seeking safety from Ugandan Army pursuit, while Tanzanian officials reported no border hostilities. In Kampala, Ugandan spokesmen said fighting continued at Mutukula and Kikagati, noting a split among Obote supporters with Acholi and Langi factions. President Amin claimed clashes with Tanzanian troops and guerrillas inside Tanzania, as Libyan units arrived in Uganda. Peace envoy Arteh departed Dar es Salaam optimistic after talks with President Nyerere, aiming for a peaceful solution and new talks in Kampala.

Travel agency federation urges commonwealth airline watchdog
