About 100 workers operated two hour shifts to restore 5000 telephone services after a £500,000 fire at the Civic Automatic Telephone Exchange in Mert Sret on Friday morning. The assistant director of telecommunications in New South Wales, Mr J A Seanlon, said the work continued into the night.
