Indictable offence heard in ACT court for illegal motor car use
Mr Justice Joske dealt with for the first time in the ACT a case of illegal motor car use as indictable. A 20-year-old ex soldier from the Royal Military College Dun troon was released on bond and ordered abstinence from liquor. He pleaded guilty to stealing a vehicle and gear from Bernard Stelfox, with another driver admitting taking the car while intoxicated. The judge called the offence serious. Additional cases include fines for dairy regulation breaches by South Australian Wine Products (A.C.T.) Pty. Ltd. and a milk temperature violation at the Blue Moon Cafe with related inspections and disputes. Speeding penalties were issued to Charles Vaveyn and others, totalling several pounds.
