British Black Knight rocket to test satellite launch at Woomera

Sabre jets set Townsville to Darwin speed record

Four Sabre jets from No 78 Wing Williamtown flew 1 050 miles to Darwin in two hours 20 minutes on a Mobility trial. Led by Group Captain G A Cooper DFC, they reportedly climbed to 40 000 ft for much of the flight, establishing a new time record for the distance.

Crash Victim Identified In Tamworth Wreck

Tamworth police identified the victim as William George Johnson 23 of Carlisle Avenue Ashfield in a crash on the New England Highways. His semi trailer loaded with plywood ran off an embankment and burst into flames.
