Prime Minister Menzies rejected allegations that Senator Paltridge pressured East-West Airlines to aid Ansett ANA. He praised Paltridge for supporting feeder airlines and rejected calls for a Royal Commission into the West-West Airlines dispute.
Senator Partridge tabled ministerial and departmental correspondence on East West Airlines. Heffron blasted £9 million Commonwealth aid to Ansett ANA as dangerous, while Menzies defended Paltridge and denied any takeover offer since May 1960. Shand letters to Partridge shown as cordial.
