Navy searchers found the bodies of two of five officers missing off the Queensland coast from last Thursday. The H M A S Anzac located the remains in a submerged dismasted whaler 64 miles north west of Hayman Island. Armed Services facilities join in an intensified search for the remaining three missing men.
Bodies identified as Midshipmen Graeme Pierce of Ipswich Queensland and Daniel Sanders of War ners Bay N S Await next of kin. Three missing remain N J Longstaff B A May and P G Mulvan y. Whaler left H M A S Sydney last Thursday during sailing exercise. Navy searches cover Dent Wand to Cape Bowling Green with ships helicopters and private boats.
Perth reports the tanker Canopus loaded at the Kwinana refinery and ready to sail for the Eastern States with 15000 tons of motor spirits. Owner R W Miller plans to discharge 9000 tons at Melbourne and the rest at Sydney while negotiating further cargoes with Shell and Caltex in New South Wales.

Melbourne reports a 20-year-old pilot, Jeremy Piers Talbot-Wilson of Moorabbin, died when his single engine Cessna crashed into fog bound Mt Bullengarook near Gisborne while en route from Kerang to Moorabbin after delivering newspapers. The plane disintegrated on impact atop the 2500 ft peak as fog reduced visibility to near zero.
A national mission spokesman told the Advisory Council that a water treatment plant will start before the next Canberra storage is completed. The cotter River storage above Bendora Dam will be used, with the plant integrated into Canberra’s main trunk supply. Researchers from multiple departments and universities are studying the Cotter catchment.
The precentor of St Paul’s Cathedral Canon Lewis John Collins won the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament chair with 117 votes to 64 for Michael Mitchell Howard. It marked the first time Collins had faced a challenge for the post.

King Hassan of Morocco reportedly accepted a ceasefire appeal from President Nkrumah of Ghana to end fighting on the Algeria Morocco border. A six man Arab League mission is set to depart for the region as Algeria urges O A U arbitration. Moroccan and Algerian envoys have insisted on a cease-fire contingent on troop withdrawals.
The Goulburn sub branch of the Returned Servicemen's League protests the comments and actions of NSW League President W. Yeo during Ikeda’s Australia visit. A public relations officer may be appointed to handle statements and clarify that views are personal.
A Castlemaine boy, nine year old Thomas Mark Robins, died after drinking arsenic from a Coca-Cola bottle. His brothers Howard Clark, ten, and Robert Clark, nine, also drank from the bottle but were reported in satisfactory condition. Officials said the Coca-Cola Export Corp. is not to blame.
