Scott Leads In World Air Race From Mildenhall To Allahabad

C W A Scott and Campbell Black in a de Havilland Comet led the Centenary Air Race, covering 4853 miles from Mildenhall to Allahabad in under 26 hours after taking off from Baghdad. The Mollisons were briefly ahead at Baghdad. delays at Karachi and other stoppages affected several other competitors as 20 planes started.
