Fijian fire-walking dancer badly burned at Canberra exhibition
A Fijian dancer in a troupe visiting from Fiji was severely burned during a fire-walking display at Woden Plaza last night. About 6 15 pm the performers crossed red hot rocks inside an enclosure. one dancer’s grass skirt caught fire and he collapsed. He was treated at Woden Valley Hospital and later transferred to Canberra Hospital.
