A Canberra dancer Miss Joy Alder won the Scottish Australasian Dancing Championships in Sydney during the Waratah Festival. The 21 year old, daughter of Mr and Mrs R Alder of Braddon, claimed her third title after placing fourth last year and in 1961. she is sister to ballet dancer Alan Alder.
The Interior Department reported 17 of 1801 flats were vacant yesterday. Most were under repair or repainting before new tenants. Two vacated in August await major renovations while others were vacated in September and October. Some flats appear vacant due to holidays or embassy holding. Secretary R Kings said many names on the housing waiting list had moved or not replied to letters.
