Police report a multi vehicle crash on Wakehurst Parkway near jarrabeen killing 18 with four Victorians dying on country roads. Shark mauls lifesaver at Northcliffe Beach
A 19 year old lifesaver Jeffrey Sachse of Kalinga was mauled by a shark about his left leg while racing at Northcliffe Beach. He was taken by ambulance to South Brisbane and doctors operated for two hours to save his leg. he was reported in satisfactory condition.
