Disabled plane blocks Canberra airport runway approach

Ansett ANA Fokker Friendship aircraft blocked the eastern approach to Canberra Airport after a right-hand wheel assembly collapsed yesterday. Passengers had evacuated before the incident. The fuselage rested on the tarmac with the right wing bent near the tip and the propeller and collapsed wheel assembly forced into the ground.
