Singapore, Wednesday. The R A F planes proceed to Singapore coast and jungle scanning for the last time. Hopes of locating the lost Ayers from the air are nearly exhausted. The Qantas plane searches the Vern Peninsula area where Smithy may have crossed toward Aloratar.
The Commonwealth Government offered a reward of 5,000 for information aiding the search for missing men. Messages urged ground parties to inspect difficult terrain while RAF command in Singapore discussed sunken plans and the use of a twin engined aircraft. Officials, including Sir Charles Kingsford Smith's brother, prepared provisional certificates and long range fuel setups as Sydney airmen expressed hope the search would continue.
