UK Arms Exports to Middle East Reach 60 Million
Britain exported about 60 million pounds worth of explosives arms and ammunition to the Middle East from 1946 to June this year. Board of Trade president Sir David Eccles told Parliament yesterday that the exports included industrial explosives, non military ammunition and civil type aircraft. Emrys Hughes urged the Foreign Secretary Selwyn Lloyd be informed, criticizing the belief that Russia was the sole arm supplier to the region.
