Live 25 lb shell moved under armed escort to La Perouse

An armour plated truck will transport a live 25 pound shell from Victoria Army Bar racks to an ammunition dump at La Perouse escorted by police. Major S Harmer will drive the vehicle at 10 to 15 mph with a special armour plated carrier. The shell found yesterday in a Double Bay demolition contains three pounds of T N T and could cause lethal fragments up to 500 yards.
