Court reserves decision on Wollongong poll challenge
Sydney report states Mr Justice Hardie reserved his decision on whether to allow a rival to contest the Wollongong State seat. Earlier hearings discussed substituting late petitioner Jack Haugh who died last week. Mr M G Jackson-Gallway proposed replacing him with R J Bainton QC noting interested parties had to file to stay the poll. The court must decide if the petition survives the petitioner's death and whether a new poll is required.
