Tenders Called For Major Snowy Projects
Sydney reports two Snowy Mountains hydro projects have tenders opened for the island Bend Dam and the Snowy Geehi tunnel section. The dam diverts Snowy River water to drive Murray power station turbines. The Grand Bend concrete structure rises 135 ft with a crest about 470 ft. The Snowy Geehi tunnel tender covers about 30 miles drilled from the Snowy River end. completed, the tunnel will run about nine miles under the main dividing range.

N G Output Of Rubber Cocoa Rising In Papua New Guinea
The Minister for Territories said Papua and New Guinea will see substantial gains in rubber and cocoa. Cocoa natives rose from 30 tons to 1500 tons in six years, with new plantings doubling the potential to 3500 to 4000 tons of dried beans. The administration will aid rubber by using rubber seed and bidwood from the rubber experiment station.
