Astronauts Stafford Cernan and Young slept through most of the day as Apollo 10 neared the 100000 mile mark en route to an eight mile lunar orbit. The Saturn V lifted the craft from Cape Kennedy and set a rapid ascent as mission officials planned a live color TV from space and test runs ahead of the July moon landing.
