Petty Sessions Fines for Health Breach at Griffith Milk Bar
The Canberra court fined Mildura Street Griffith firm Susanicrast Bakeries Pty Ltd £4 17s costs after a guilty plea for health regulation breach. A health inspector found a damaged dirty cardboard carton with four unwrapped loaves outside a Narrabundah milk bar on December 13 1963. The shop disputed the carton’s condition claiming it was intact when left. Separate matters included a charge against Thomas Baxter for allegedly taking diaries from the Commonwealth between January 1 and November 25 1963, with Baxter pleading not guilty. A civil claim by Keith Dencie against Regency Distributors for £120 was dismissed for lack of consideration. Additional fines totalled £15 against Rudolf Bozsity for two false pretence charges including obtaining groceries and a motor vehicle with bad cheques. the court noted Bozsity’s hardship and potential future employment, and ordered restitution.
