Formosan Tea Will Cost Less in Australia

Perth reports a government decision to grant Australian import access for Formosan tea. Chinese Ambassador Chan Tat Chu says Formosa will export green and black teas, with black tea touted as superior to Indian and Ceylon varieties and cheaper to market. Fatal Shooting Accident On Cooma Road

Phillip John Greer a 22 year old of Oaks Estate was shot dead while practice shooting at a bottle on a fence with his brother Bernard and friend Brian O Neill near Cooma Road four miles from Queanbeyan. The shot occurred as Greer rose to avoid a bullet. he died at Queanbeyan Hospital. Police later located his sister in law with her child at Cotter River. no suspicious circumstances were found.

Three Brothers Drown After Tractor Crash Near Myrtleford

In Buffalo Creek near Myrtleford 175 miles northeast of Melbourne three Italian brothers named Anthony Longo 18 Galeseppi 15 and Robert James 11 drowned when a tractor plunged 15 feet through a wooden bridge deck into the creek. An uncle found the scene after seeing the damaged decking and the tractor with the bodies beneath.

Two Britons in Cairo Espionage Trial Protest Hearing

Two of four Britons accused in Cairo of espionage told a court they had just learned the charges after eight months in prison.
