7th Light Horse Regimental Races at Acton Canberra
The 7th Light Horse Regiment based in Goulburn held its annual regimental races at Acton Course Canberra on a Saturday afternoon. Attendees included Army Navy Air Force representatives, General Brand and staff, the Crime Minister and Mrs Bruce, and Bir Granville Ryrie. Horses had to be owned by 7th Light Horse men. Results listed multiple cups and placings with troopers and lieutenants winning various events.

The Canberra Cycling Club staged a 10 mile road race on the Tharwa road yielding a record field finish with four seconds separating the first four riders. A Duke of York Handicap over 10 miles on Pharwa road produced eight starters and medals for top places, with E Collins and A Newton among the lead finishers in times near 27 minutes. An eight mile race is planned for the Tharwa road next Sunday as anticipation builds for the L J Finch cup donated by Mr I J Finch of Sydney.
