Melbourne leaves Sydney for shakedown after collision repairs
The aircraft carrier Melbourne departs Sydney for a shakedown cruise after extensive repairs from a collision with HMAS Voyager. It will operate around Jervis Bay for several days, not joining antisubmarine exercises with Quiberon Pukaki Trump and Nowra helicopters. The troop transport HMAS Sydney also sails for a shakedown and a forthcoming voyage to Borneo.
