At a Canberra meeting of the Australian National Football League on Wednesday a Department of the Interior letter outlined proposals for grounds upgrades at Manuka Oval Northbourne and Kingston including boundary fencing permanent scoreboard lighting and improved pavilion utilities. The Goulburn Queanbeyan interlude game was postponed to later in the season and junior and intermediate competitions will open with matches at Northbourne Kingston and Queanbeyan Showground with officials named for umpiring duties.

A Thursday report describes a trawler incident involving Barter Hudson and Joseph Allion who survived a crash. The vessel collided with debris, knocking over two pilots and leaving the crew shaken but unharmed.
