White South Africans oppose unions in Canberra talk
Three white South Africans told Canberra audiences that non whites in South Africa are ill suited for trade unionism and that adapting to European standards would come at a social cost. They claimed wages for non whites are high compared with other African nations and argued against one man one vote. They cited limited rights for unions and a system of industry specific awards. They urged increased education and a larger export market to civilise the population. They also noted Australia South Africa trade ties and EPIC insurance data for Australian exporters.
