In Dublin on Tuesday the Senate debated abolition of the Senate which would grant Mr. De Valera greater authority than any European ruler and remove the need for him to confront opposition in future sessions.

A Bull bomber piloted by Flight Lieut J Tanner with Flight-Cadet A Plugge collided mid air with a Hart-Day bomber piloted by Flying-Officer Douthwaite and Flight-Cadet Askell Rutherford. All four aboard were killed. Parachutes were not used. This was the first four fatalities in such an accident since February.
