Fire gutted two kindergarten classrooms at Isabella Street Public School Queanbeyan. Investigators say cause unknown but likely from the street side. police and detectives probing. Headmaster reported accommodation options in flux. damages estimated at about £64.
Canberra police reported three flats targeted in Barrabunilah over the weekend. Goods including clothing and cash were stolen from Descovery Street Redill and a flat in Gower. Items taken include a television set a portable radio and a record player. A sewing machine cash and other belongings were also listed as stolen in Red Hill.
The Interior Department announced a plan to earmark funds for the development of nature strips. It noted that allocations had already been exhausted and that no further applications would be considered by July 1.
