Sir Dallas Brooks opened the 23rd Commonwealth Parliament's third session and outlined a plan to gear the full program to expanding export capacity. He urged cooperation with States and industry in a major effort to lift exports.
Sir Dallas outlined policy to curb dumping under the Customs Tariff Act and to expand export trade. He described measures to boost external trade, promote markets abroad, strengthen Trade Commissioner service, and consider taxation to raise exports.
