Man freed on bond after hostage incident at Aboriginal Affairs
Robert Arthur John McLeod a 26 year old entertainer held four public servants for about two hours at the Department of Aboriginal Affairs on Thursday. He was released on a $50 bond to be of good behaviour for 12 months and ordered to pay 4010 to the Commonwealth within 28 days. About 30 Aborigines including Charles Perkins and Bruce McGuiness attended the Canberra court as McLeod admitted possessing a .22 calibre revolver handed to him in the department. He claimed no licence for the weapon.
