A woman’s body was discovered in a locked wardrobe in Clarence Street, Sydney. Police believe she was strangled about a week earlier, with detectives and medical officers investigating alongside the locksmith who opened the wardrobe and the room’s tenant.
Captain McKinnon of the tanker Yarraville reports rescuing eight women five children and three men from a lifeboat after finding the Tricolour 1000 miles from Japan in heavy seas. The Tricolour crew remained aboard as lifeboats were lowered and the Burning See hatches opened.
