Milk Drivers Award Clauses face Opposition in Canberra
The Transport Union Canberra branch secretary M B McDonald said new Dairy Farmers Co operative Milk Co depot in Kingston would savagely break down ACT transport workers conditions. The Australasian Workers Union and Cumberland award figures were involved as talks stalled. The award covers four clauses and spans hours, meal penalties, low loadings, and Saturday penalties. The commissioner Findlay noted a three month appeal period with four year terms and a June pay period implementation.
