Crucifix for Church Dedicated in Reid Lutheran Church
A wooden crucifix carved by John Pillig of Yarrolumla will be dedicated at the Reid Lutheran Church tomorrow. Pillig, a professional sculptor who migrated from Germany in 1955, spent 29 years in Latin America. The 458 feet 6 inches high figure is mounted on Malayan timber, chosen for stability, with a careful finish to prevent cracking. Rev. Dr. M. Lohe will conduct the ceremony.

MELBOURNE A man living in Melbourne named Caylon Varney has been refused assisted passage to Australia from Britain by the Commonwealth Immigration Department for his return year. His father Mr P Varney, 38, living at Bentleigh with a daughter aged 11, arrived in 1960 and naturalised.
