U S President Kennedy and Soviet Premier Khrushchev described their Vienna talks as useful and planned more contacts on world problems. Kennedy then flew to London for a 27 hour visit to brief Prime Minister Macmillan on the summit outcomes.
Visit to the U K observers say Kennedy plans Moscow visit later this year. Vienna talks produced a 125 word communique with no shift on Laos. Rusk and Gromyko to meet in Geneva to move the Laos deadlock. Krushchev retains firm Berlin Germany and disarmament positions. No sign of China recognition or new four power talks. A central Laos commission was agreed, but other issues remained unchanged.
President Kennedy will deliver a 30 minute radio television report to the nation tomorrow night from the White House about his summit talks with Soviet Premier Khrushchev. Kennedy and Krushchev have met, with Khrushchev arriving in Moscow and Kennedy visiting London.
South Africa’s first President Charles Swart, 66, speaks from the Palace of Justice balcony in Pretoria during Republic ceremonies. Former Governor-General Swart had been sworn in earlier as Hendrik Verwoerd stands nearby, with the Union becoming a Republic and leaving the British Commonwealth.

Premier Khrushchev and U.S. leaders spent two days reviewing U.S.-Soviet relations and other global issues. They discussed nuclear testing disarmament and Germany while reaffirming support for a neutral independent Laos chosen by Laotians and international guarantees of neutrality with an effective cease-fire.
About 30,000 Africans at a Nairobi mass meeting backed a declaration that jailed Mau Mau leader Jomo Kenyatta is the second God for Africans. Odinga called Kenyatta a continent wide figure, likening Churchill and Kennedy as others' second gods. The gathering approved the proposal to declare Kenyatta as their second God.
Five climbers were roped together when they fell from Local Peak into a glacier. Two youths and two girls from Victoria are injured with a suspected fractured leg among them. A search and rescue from Ohakune plans to remove the group tomorrow morning as weather worsens with hard freezing snow. Nine other students reportedly followed two hours later. First news came from a fifth member who reached a farmhouse this morning.
David Coppage, 17, lies seriously ill in hospital after a folding wooden dagger failed to fold during a play in Hereford. The incident occurred when the improvised weapon did not collapse as intended.

Thirteen Algerians were shot dead by French police during a five hour manhunt in Paris. Six were Algerian Muslims in the French Army. eight policemen were wounded amid arcade attacks and a running gun battle. Police siege of a central hotel ended the final assault with at least 11 extremists captured alive.
Passengers on the Canberra Monaro Express were bused from Goulburn to Canberra after a Deep Creek Tarago derailment yesterday morning. An axle on a goods train broke, derailing two relief trucks and causing a brake van to partially leave the line. No injuries were reported. The line reopened later, and the Sydney night express departed on schedule.
Paris report: Guy Masselin perished at an air club meet near Doncourt-Les-Conflans after leaping from a plane at about 2,500 feet and gliding to 1,500 feet with wing apparatus before the parachute failed to open. The tragedy occurred yesterday and Masselin was killed instantly.
A Chamber of Commerce complaint spurred plans for station improvements. Mr Lansdown notes the Commission intends general work on approaches, with tidying forecourt work soon and trees and lawns planted throughout the station area.
