Youth Drowns in Lake Burley Griffin at Public Swim Area
Ainslie youth Brian Pilley aged 12 drowned in Lake Burley Griffin yesterday afternoon in the swimming enclosure near Blick Mountain peninsula. ACT Police said three girls aged 11 and 14 saw the drowning and attempted to help. The body was recovered about three hours later at 7.20 pm after searches by ASL and water police.
