Dominions Office confirms a short term Anglo Australian meat agreement amid stagging beef markets in England and Ireland. Discussions note possible Anglo Irish options, with Ireland supplying cattle while Britain seeks to ease shortages, boosting employment and beef demand.
In Dublin on Friday Mr De Valera described the cattle and coal trade agreement between the Free State and Britain as a business transaction based on mutual interest. He noted the Free State welcomed similar opportunities and urged cordial Anglo Irish relations.
