Bust of RAF fighter pilot presented at Parliament House
Miss Gretchen Green presented a life size bronze bust of an R A F fighter pilot to the Minister for Air Mr Osborne at Parliament House yesterday morning. The bust by Eleanor Mellon was brought from America by Miss Green, who during World War II organized service clubs for Commonwealth airmen in New York.

Fire Danger Passed At Port Kembla
SYDNEY, Thursday. Port Kembla, once in danger of a petrol flood turning the harbour into a holocaust, is nearly normal today. Only a small area near jetty No 6 remains cordoned off as petrol seeps. Minister for Mines Mr Simpson said the immediate fire danger had passed and the petrol was evaporating rapidly.
