Protesters heckle arbitration bench in wage case hearing

In Melbourne on Tuesday demonstrators booed and shouted at Mr Justice Moore and the Full Bench as the national Wage case hearing opened. About 20 stood behind the call loom waving placards and shouting. Court officials urged silence while ACTU advocate Robert dally addressed the bench, after which demonstrators left. about 200 men marched earlier on Bourke Street with placards.

Encephalitis Outbreak Spreads Across Victoria

The Murray Valley encephalitis outbreak is spreading in Victoria with 11 victims hospitalized and three deaths reported. Health officials led by Dr W J Stevenson warn the illness is moving across the Wimmera and Garang Garang areas and a 40 year old woman from the region was admitted to hospital on Monday.

Two Die in Valiant Tanker Crash North of Michelago

Two men died and a third was seriously injured when a late model Valiant collided with a milk tanker on the Monaro Highway eight miles north of Michelago. Rescuers cut free victims from the car as the tanker partially blocked the road. The crash occurred around 4 pm and the injured were transported to Canberra Hospital.

Angry farmers heckle Whitlam over bounty cut
