Man fined for watering despite drought rules

Kenneth Herbert Gardiner of Creswell Street Campbell appeared at Canberra Petty Sessions and pleaded guilty to contravening water regulations. He was fined 25 dollars and warned that penalties would rise if offences continued after a Works Department officer observed a sprinkler in use on December 19. ACT Health Services Director Retires Announcement

The ACT Health Services director Dr W F H Crick, 61, retired yesterday after leading the branch since October last year. Health Minister Dr Forbes announced Alexander John 403 would take the post, with Crick noted for work on hospital design and planning and for serving as Medical Officer of Health for the ACT from 1959 to 1963.
