Shell expands search and oil production in Australia
Shell announces a wide search in South West Queensland possibly costing several hundred thousand pounds. The Clyde refinery in New South Wales processes 200000 tons of crude annually and runs at capacity producing motor spirit fuels oils and solvents. Shell operates modern blending plants in each capital city except Hobart and grease plants in Gore Bay Sydney and other cities. it is now the largest petroleum supplier in Australia.
