Hawker Demon Crash in Avoca Injures RAF Crew

A Hawker airplane of the Royal Air Force crashed at Avoca oval after engine trouble, injuring Pilot Officer John Burgess and wireless operator Alan Loord. Burgess, 26, and Loord, who were on meteorological flights for the Weather Bureau, were taken for treatment after their craft struck a cow and overturned. It was the eighth accident of the week.
