Bronze Head Presented to Sir Robert Garran by CUC
The Canberra University College presented a bronze head of the Ona to Sir Robert Garran at a formal ceremony in College Hall. Lord Bruce and about 230 attendees including university officials and Canberra residents attended. Penalty tributes praised Garran for long service from 1927 onward, noting his roles with the University College Council, Canberra University Ordinance, and the formation of the University Association. Mrs Voorwindes, who created the head in 1948, travelled from Ripon Park for the presentation.
