Kennedy vows peace push if elected in November

Democratic nominee Jon Kennedy told a Zionist audience that if elected he would urge the U S and allied states to end their feud through private talks. He contrasted his program with what he called weakness under the Eisenhower administration in the Middle East. Senator Kennedy, a Roman Catholic, cited Protestant James Wing as assistant general secretary for interpretation of the National Council of Churches since 1958 to help meet campaign questions on church and state separation. Mr Wing, 42, a lawyer, is a Presbyterian elder.
