Queensland head for women's unit
A Queensland social worker Miss Roslyn Hunter aged 36 has been appointed head of the Department of Social Security women's unit in Canberra. From a field of 36 applicants the appointment was announced yesterday by Senator Guilfoyle the Minister for Social Security. Miss Hunter who holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Queensland specializes in social welfare administration. The unit will work with the women's welfare issues consultative committee to examine legislation and programs and identify welfare issues for women. She will also liaise with department officers and represent the department on the interdepartmental working group on women’s affairs.
