General John J. Pershing urged the United States to provide at least 50 destroyers to Canada or Britain to aid the Royal Navy. He argued aiding Britain would defend American heritage and prevent hardships of another war, insisting the U S can spare destroyers from its reserves.
The Home radio reports British diplomatic staff arrived at Tangier after being given 24 hours to depart French Morocco.
