The Anzac Day commemorations across Australia drew larger crowds in Canberra with an official ceremony at Parliament House and a strong turnout in cities and villages. Governor-General Gowrie urged peace and warned against war while Senator Duncan Hughes reflected on Gallipoli, the 21 years since, and Australia’s wartime sacrifice and allies.
The Duntroon hill grave of Major General Bridges, founder of the military college, hosted an annual Returned Soldiers' League service. Officers clergy band and public formed the square around the grave while wreaths were laid and prayers offered. Mr C L Abbott praised Bridges as a dedicated trainer and outlined cadet achievements and wartime service. The ceremony concluded with Last Post, silence, Reveille, and the National Anthem.

The Goodyear Zeppelin Corporation announces plans for an airship exceeding the length of the Hindenburg. The proposed craft would be 850 feet long with a 145 foot diameter. It would be deployed on transatlantic service between the United States and Europe.

Dr H K Houston 35 is killed and his wife seriously injured when their plane crashes during landing at a private aerodrome in Nandoora. Eye witness Louis Deldegan, a market gardener, says the doctor tried to land but the craft nosedived. The couple were rushed to hospital with severe injuries. Houston had married three months earlier.
