A fragmentary narrative spoons a surreal mix of names and images, mentioning bairns and Cheerios in a dreamlike sequence. It blends references to weather, dawn, song, and silver things with scattered dialogue and does not present a coherent plot or clear characters.
In a misty scene a bewitched prince searches for a cure as a frog speaks, winds rise and a silver task glints. A magical gathering at Princes s Eno unfolds with Widoe Metting, Villager and Kine joining in a village rite, ending with a quiet homeward return and a hopeful dawn.
A garbled text fragment describes cleaning methods using water and plating, then shifts to kitchen guidance. It mentions stamping down clothes, drying lace, and stuffing pastry with vegetables, mushrooms, and spices. It references making lighter crusts and serving with beaten eggs or sauces.
A fragmentary 1928 Cairns note from Rosemary asking for poems and verses to be shared with a friend. It mentions travel, letters, and distant connections, with greetings to Tom Terry and Osamy. The text reads like a playful plea to send a piece of poetry and keep in touch through a shared literary exchange.
A partially legible Mareeba social page notes attendance at a Diggers Carnival event, with mention of guests and locals present. Names appear scattered across the fragment, including Cairns connections and multiple households. The text references visitors, family groups, and venue activities during a weekend in the town.
An exhaustive search is under way for the body of Mr Hayes of Kayes Ginger Beer fame. He had vanished about a month ago after being seen with Mr B Hayes on Mount Kordusho. The body was found buried in snow several yards from the footpath, prompting a full search by the walkers and authorities.
Fragmented OCR text presents archaic imagery of garments and courts, with garbled phrasing and disjoint lines. It appears as a verse fragment or mock prose reflecting medieval or faux-archaic diction. No clear event, person, or location emerges for a concrete news-style summary.
A partially legible 1928 letter from Sache sirech, CAIRNS, mentions a Home Circle and Cheerie Bands turning eleven on October 1, requests a pen name Lord Nelson, and references parrots and greetings to an unknown reader, Ross. The fragmentary text hints at family or local club correspondence with playful nicknames and a welcoming tone.
Fragmentary verses express longing as a speaker pleads for closeness and warmth. Repeated calls for nearer companionship depict love across distance, promising comfort and light when apart. The text blends archaic diction with broken lines, preserving mood over clear narrative.
Sydney reports the Federal Government has accepted the tender from Western Australia Airways Ltd for air mail services between Adelaide and Perth to begin in the Western term. The service aims to speed year end mail deliveries and passenger mail to England via Fremantle. Electrically controlled flood lighting will aid night arrivals and departures.
