Mr Forman and family have left Shipton's Flat as depopulation grows. The writer blames no local mystery, only high tin and lint costs, lack of capital, and no local market. Weather is fine, fires burn in hills, and a boy killed a venomous snake with help from his eight year old brother. Mrs C Horsfeld becomes Post Mistress. John Roberts is praised for a plack.
