Queensland select committee tours Chillagoe and Etheridge line area
A Queensland Legislative Council select committee, including W. B. F. Fahey, A. H. T. Nevitt, Page Hamnity, and Dickson, toured Cairns to inspect the Chillagoe and Etheridge Railway area. The party observed rugged hinterland conditions, witnessed water flows at Stoney Creek and Barron Falls, and noted limited provisions on the train while evaluating potential government takeover proposals.
