Nature notes on waterfalls and orchids from Cape York
A condensed report discusses peaks like Angel Falls in Venezuela as the world's tallest, comparisons with Kukengam and Sutherland Falls, and cites H E Young's 1940 Cape York orchid expedition detailing Dendrobium undulatum Cooktown Orchid and Calanthe triplicata. Parasitic bat flies Nycteribiidae were collected from a Cairns bat, including Litropoda paralis and Penialledia pecanica, with Cyclopedia pteropus also noted. Museums seek more specimens.
