Malanda Council Notes Resignation and Road Works
The Malanda council met with Chairman Lynch and V. W. Jones present. Minutes from October 16 were confirmed, and accounts totaling 2535/1540 were approved. Mr. Lucas-Hughes tendered his resignation effective October 25, due to personal reasons. the Deputy Chairman accepted and the action was recorded. Discussions covered road and bridge works, boundary fences, drainage, and requests from local associations for road improvements and rail crossings. The engineer assessed several projects including a proposed Ithaca bridge, the need for deviations, and funding considerations from Lands Department and local associations. Continuous reports addressed stock control, sanitary accounts, and departmental matters.
