Land Court actions and council seeks sanitary inspector
In Herberton on Nov 3 and 5 hearings before Deputy Land Commissioner J J Scheibein multiple certificates were granted or adjourned for Crown Land and mineral leases. The Herberton Shire Council was ordered to appoint a permanent sanitary inspector jointly with neighboring shires at 1300 pounds yearly and 100 pounds travel. A court inquiry into a timber yard fire found losses between 250 and 4300 pounds with insured lorry. proceedings adjourned pending another witness. An order was issued to demolish dilapidated buildings on allotment 3 section in Herberton town within one week.
