Government Analyst Report on Milk Adulteration Findings
The Government analyst J Brownlie Henderson reports for year ended June 36 that 272 milk samples were examined with 285 legal samples. 69 or 3 per cent failed to pass the legal standard. Added water averaged 1.96 percent, with 2 to 59 per cent range. About 4 samples lacked fat, indicating water was not added in those cases. With milk consumption in Prisene and suburbs around 2.00 gallons, about 12 400 gallons of water of doubtful quality are implied.
